Last year, I started The Authentic Leadership Institute (ALI GLOBAL) as a community— we called it The ALC (Authentic Leadership Circle).

I was tired of being “too much.” I was tired of explaining my ambitions. I was tired of energy coolers. I was tired of being the only “crazy” one in rooms.
What began as a handful of fearless dreamers has now grown into a global community of 1,500+ women across four continents. One year and a couple months later, this community means more to me than I ever imagined.
As women with audacious assignments, we often don’t realize how unsafe we are outside of communities governed by the right people and the right spirit.
We underestimate how determined the world is to convince us that we are powerless—how intentionally distorted power dynamics work against our advancement.
Even worse.
We’re too nonchalant about the fact that, for women of higher purpose and ambition, we wrestle not against flesh and blood.
